Originally from South Africa, Alastair has spent his life immersed in adventure.
From exploring the continent in vintage Land Rovers to managing 5-star safari lodges, his diverse experience as a guide, ranger, dive instructor, and lodge manager showcases his expertise in hospitality, service, and storytelling.
Since moving to the U.S in 2018, Alastair has focused on crafting tailor-made safaris that deliver unforgettable journeys. He is the booming voice of Africa Awaits and is always excited to converse about the wilds of his beloved continent.
meet laura
From Atlanta, Laura's upbringing was diverse. She was well traveled from an early age, taking part in two trips to Africa even before college.
After her schooling she joined the Peace Corps, serving in a rural South African village. As it happens, there was a guest lodge not too far away with a certain strapping manager, and Laura sought to secure the largest souvenir she could.
Alastair took Laura around Africa before they moved back Stateside. They've settled in western North Carolina where Laura's family has rooted history, and from where she manages the organization and finer details of Africa Awaits.
